9-Month Program – Basic Sailor Course – Duisburg
This training program is designed for career changers who want to begin working as a certified deckhand in inland navigation.
The course is delivered in 9 modules of 5 days each, taking place at our training center in Duisburg. Participants spend a total of 44 days on-site. The program prepares students for the official IHK deckhand examination, held in German.
Program Topics Include:

Basic Safety Training – onboard safety, emergency behavior, firefighting

VHF Radio (Inland) – training for the radio licence and onboard radio practice
Examinations:
Preparation for the official IHK Deckhand Exam (in German)
Included:
The VHF radio certificate is included in the course fee.
Note:
Days of onboard service must still be completed to qualify for official registration in the service record book.
