Simulators: The Key to Exam Success
In Duisburg, a state-of-the-art and mobile inland navigation simulator is available for both commercial and recreational navigation training. Meanwhile, at our Šamorín campus (Slovakia), we have established a simulator park with five cutting-edge training stations, designed to meet the latest technical standards.
Realistic Training for Real-World Challenges
Our custom-developed training programs include maneuvers, route navigation, and emergency response procedures. While the simulator may initially resemble a large-scale video game, it serves a serious purpose: safety. Many critical scenarios that inland navigation professionals may encounter cannot be realistically practiced in real life—at least not without significant risk of damage and cost.
On the simulator, unpredictable events such as heavy rain, storms, snowfall, or high traffic volumes can be triggered at the push of a button. This allows trainees to develop realistic, repeatable responses for real-life emergencies.
We Train for Reality—Before Reality Trains Us
Our primary training goal is to prevent accidents before they happen. This opportunity is not just for inland navigation captains—our simulator training is accessible to all inland navigation professionals, from deckhands to senior officers.
We also offer specialized training programs for aspiring boatmen and helmsmen, ensuring early access to hands-on experience. Beyond nautical skills, we emphasize the human factor—teamwork is becoming increasingly important on board, and effective internal and external communication is a crucial safety component that helps prevent costly misunderstandings.
