Advanced Training for Junior Boatmasters

Aim

Through challenging scenarios, participants develop their safety awareness for routine operations on board. All simulated manoeuvres are carried out under realistic conditions and in accordance with the applicable regulations, ensuring that the safe application of the relevant legal requirements is not only practised but firmly reinforced.

Description

Junior boatmasters already have the necessary professional knowledge, but genuine confidence in taking action develops through regular training. This is where our training concept comes in. It keeps specialist knowledge fresh and ensures that it can be applied reliably in everyday operations. In this way, theory becomes practical experience – quickly, safely and confidently.

Our training concept therefore goes beyond simply refreshing professional knowledge. The focus is on responsibility, safety and confidence in one’s own decisions. Participants strengthen their decision-making skills in critical traffic situations while potentially preparing themselves for the next step in their careers. Realistic scenarios create a learning environment in which complex traffic situations can be experienced, actively managed and subsequently evaluated from a professional perspective. All of this takes place without risk to people, vessel or cargo and with maximum learning value. The scenarios continually require participants to make decisions, allowing theory to become practical experience almost without them noticing. Every step in the decision-making process strengthens the feeling of being prepared to deal successfully with critical situations.

Targeted reflection phases support intensive learning processes that not only strengthen the ability to act effectively, but also develop confidence and personal responsibility. In this way, participants grow into responsible leaders.

• Refresher on the legal framework of the Rhine Navigation Police Regulations
• Navigation in good visibility and in conditions of restricted visibility
• Internal and external communication procedures (radio discipline)
• Conduct under special circumstances
