Recreational Boat Licence (Recreational Boating)

After completing the course and passing the exam, you are authorised to:

• to safely and independently operate pleasure craft with a length of less than 20 metres (on the Rhine, less than 15 metres) and an engine power of more than 15 hp (on the Rhine, more than 5 hp) on inland waterways such as the Rhine, Moselle and Danube.
• to operate pleasure craft with no length restriction and an engine power of more than 15 hp in coastal and high-sea areas such as the North Sea, Baltic Sea and Mediterranean.

The course takes place over a period of 19 days. Four in-person teaching units are planned for the SBF Inland & Sea (combined course) (four sessions and a meeting on the information evening). The total duration is approximately 10 hours. Details and times can be found below.
