UBI & SRC Inland and Maritime Radio Communication (Combined Course)

Aim

After completing the course and passing the exam, you will be authorized to:

• Operate VHF radio communication in inland navigation according to the UBI (Certificate of Competency for VHF Radio in Inland Navigation), allowing participation in radio communication on inland waterways such as the Rhine, Moselle, or Danube.
• Operate maritime radio services according to the SRC (Short-Range Certificate), required for vessels with mandatory equipment in coastal and maritime navigation.

The combined course integrates the requirements for UBI and SRC, providing comprehensive preparation for both exams. The course spans 19 days and includes 3 sessions with a total duration of approximately 5 instructional hours. Details and timings can be found below.

    First Instructional Session (Radio Regulations Inland & Maritime, communication circuits, basics and principles, equipment knowledge).
  • Wednesday, 12 February 2025:

    Second Instructional Session (Modes Inland & Maritime, equipment knowledge).
  • Tuesday, 25 February 2025:
    19:00 – approx. 21:00
    Fourth Instructional Session (Exam simulation).

  The Radio Communication Course for Inland & Maritime (Combined Course) is an official, internationally recognized program that qualifies participants to operate radio services in both inland and maritime navigation. The course covers theoretical knowledge and practical applications, including an exam simulation for optimal preparation.

Content

• First Instructional Session: Introduction to radio regulations for inland and maritime navigation, communication circuits, basics and principles of radio technology, and equipment knowledge.
• Second Instructional Session: Deep dive into mode functions for inland and maritime radio communication, along with further equipment knowledge.
• Third Instructional Session: Exam simulation to prepare for both the practical and theoretical exams.
