UBI & SRC Inland and Maritime Radio Combined Course

Aim

After completing the course and passing the exam, you are entitled to:

• Operate the VHF radio in inland navigation in accordance with the UBI (VHF radio certificate for inland navigation) in order to participate in radio traffic on inland waterways such as the Rhine, Moselle or Danube.
• Operate a marine radio in accordance with the SRC (Short-Range Certificate), which is necessary for ships that are required to be equipped for coastal and maritime shipping.

The combined course combines the requirements for UBI and SRC and prepares you comprehensively for both exams. The course takes place over a period of 10 days and includes 3 sessions with a total duration of approximately 5 teaching hours. Details and times can be found below.

Description

• Saturday, 8 March 2025, 3:00 p.m. to approx. 4:30 p.m. 1st day of instruction (Inland & Maritime Radio Regulations, Traffic circles, Basics and principles, Equipment knowledge).
• Wednesday, 12 March 2025 5:30 p.m. to approx. 7:00 p.m. 2nd day of class ( Mode inland & lake, radio equipment, )
• Tuesday, 18 March 2025 7:00 p.m. to approx. 9:00 p.m. 4th day of class (simulated exam).

The radio course for inland and maritime radio (combined course) is an official, internationally recognised course that provides the authorisation to operate radio services in inland and maritime shipping. The course covers theoretical knowledge and practical applications, including a simulation of the exam to optimally prepare you.

Content

• 1st day of class: Introduction to the radio regulations for inland and maritime navigation, traffic circles, basics and principles of radio technology, as well as device knowledge.
• 2nd day of class: In-depth study of the mode functions for inland and maritime radio, as well as device knowledge.
• 3rd day of class: Exam simulation to prepare for the practical and theoretical exams.

• The prerequisite for the radio course for inland & marine radio (combined course) is a minimum age of 15 years.
• The examination fees are not included in the prices quoted.
• The course includes classroom instruction, a textbook, equipment knowledge and a mock exam on the last day of the course.
