Aim
You will acquire the necessary expertise in the transport of dangerous goods to take on the demanding role of dangerous goods safety adviser in the field of inland waterway transport.
Description
As soon as a company is involved in the transport of dangerous goods and is assigned obligations as a participant in the dangerous goods regulation for inland waterway transport, a dangerous goods officer must be appointed in writing. Before being appointed, dangerous goods safety advisers must have successfully completed a basic course for dangerous goods safety advisers. We offer you a basic training course recognised by the Duisburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) with the ‘General Part’ and the ‘Inland Waterways Transport’. After passing the IHK examination, you will receive a training certificate that is valid for five years.

When you register for the course, you are not automatically registered with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for the skills test. Therefore, please register for the test in good time – for example, with the Duisburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
To take the test, you must fulfil the following criteria:
– Proof of participation in the basic training course for dangerous goods safety advisors
– Good knowledge of German
– Minimum age of 18 years
The examination fee for the first IHK training certificate ‘Dangerous Goods Officer’ is to be paid at the examination centre (not included in the course fee).

The registration deadline for the IHK knowledge examination is four weeks before the examination date.
