Authority Licence/Certificate for Shipmasters

Aim

Upon presentation of the authority patent/authority boatman certificate by the General Directorate for Waterways and Shipping (GDWS), you will be able to take on the responsible tasks of a skipper on board authority vehicles. You bear the main responsibility for your crew and for the safe nautical/technical use of the vehicle on the waterway.

Description

The personnel development planning of the authorities includes, among other things, the promotion of junior staff in order to ensure safety on the waterways. Ultimately, the challenges of demographic change must be overcome, because the existing shortage of skilled workers, particularly in the professional group of boatmasters, must be counteracted with a sufficient number of qualified crew members for authority vessels.

The GDWS examination and issuing fees are not included in the above prices.

When you register for the course, you are not automatically registered for the patent examination. To register for the examination in good time, please use the examination application form below.

The final date for registration for the patent examination is five weeks before the examination date.
