ADN Advanced Chemicals Training Course

You will be able to assess the risks associated with the transport of chemicals and apply your knowledge to minimise potential incidents.

Description

To increase safety during the transport of dangerous goods, an ADN expert must be present on board vessels carrying dangerous goods. For the transport of chemicals, the ADN expert must also complete an ADN Advanced Chemicals Training Course.

This training is conducted as part of a course approved by the competent authority. To obtain the ADN Chemicals Certificate of Specialised Knowledge, candidates must pass an examination conducted by regional offices of the German Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration (GDWS).

Upon successfully passing the examination, the GDWS issues an ADN Chemicals Certificate of Specialised Knowledge valid for five years.

• Structure and organisation of the ADN regulations
• Physical and chemical principles
• Mixtures, including vapour pressure and composition
• Product knowledge, including chemical formulas and compounds
• Hazardous properties of chemicals
• Practical measurement of gas concentrations
• Accident prevention, including required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Personal injuries, e.g. contact with cargo

Examination and certificate issuance fees for the ADN Certificate of Specialised Knowledge are not included in the course prices stated above.

Registration for this training course does not automatically register you for the ADN examination.

The registration deadline for the ADN examination is five weeks before the examination date.
